CNC Machinist
The successful candidate will be able to perform duties and responsibilities as listed below and
provide suggestions for efficiency improvements and assist machine operators.
What makes a successful NET & Die CNC Machinist?
A NET & Die CNC Machinist will efficiently and effectively program, set up and operate CNC vertical
or horizontal mills (3 & 4 axis) and/or lathes (single and dual spindle with live tooling)
independently. Assist in setup and programming for operators and run multiple machines
simultaneously. N.E.T. & Die is a low volume, custom machine shop offering a challenging
environment with new opportunities daily.
Required Skills & Abilities
● have 5+ years of experience with CNC machining; milling and or turning
● are able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
● can take a drawing and raw material and make a finished product independently
● possess a strong ability to work with tight tolerances
● can troubleshoot and determine corrective actions for problems
● have experience with a necessary measuring devices
● have experience with CAD/CAM (optional)
● possess excellent shop math skills
● can perform routine preventative maintenance duties
● are organized and dependable
● are able to work first shift
● are able to stand for long periods of time, and lift up to 30 pounds
Salary: $23.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

What Is An Apprenticeship?
An apprentice learns directly from his/her employer through on-the-job training while earning a salary. Hands-on training gives apprentices invaluable experience. Pair that with related technical instruction through our educational partners, including web based, community colleges and/or technical schools. All in class training is paid for by N.E.T. & Die. Total hours of training in the program is 8000 hours (approximately four years) of on the job and in class training.
This combination gives apprentices all the skills they need to succeed and progress in their professional careers in machining. Prior on the job and in class training may be applied towards required hours for apprenticeship. Our apprenticeship is a certified apprenticeship through the New York State Department of Labor.
As an apprentice you will learn:

CNC Programmer & Setup (Engineering Team)
Position Overview
At N.E.T. & Die, Inc., we’re seeking experienced CNC Machinists/Programmers to help produce complex, high-quality components across multiple industries. What you'll do:

Facility & Equipment Maintenance Technician
Position Overview
This position is ideal for a hands-on, mechanically minded individual who can balance preventative maintenance, facility upgrades, and equipment troubleshooting in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Building & Facility Maintenance
-
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on facility systems, including lighting, HVAC, air compressors, plumbing, electrical, and structural elements.
-
Oversee upkeep of both company buildings — River Glen and Foster Street — ensuring safety, cleanliness, and operational readiness.
-
Coordinate with outside contractors for major service needs (e.g., HVAC, roof repair, specialized trades).
-
Manage minor renovations and improvement projects (painting, flooring, office buildouts, etc.).
-
Maintain snow removal and seasonal maintenance schedules as needed.
Machine & Equipment Maintenance
-
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and support equipment (e.g., waterjet, balancer, welders).
-
Maintain and service air, coolant, and hydraulic systems.
-
Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues to minimize downtime.
-
Support the installation and relocation of machinery and equipment during facility expansion or process changes.
-
Track maintenance schedules and service records in coordination with Production and Engineering.
Project Work & Upgrades

Lead or assist in small-scale facility renovation projects — including layout changes, workstation improvements, lighting upgrades, and infrastructure enhancements.

Identify opportunities for cost savings, energy efficiency, and preventive reliability upgrades.

Work closely with leadership to plan, scope, and execute improvement projects safely and efficiently.
Qualifications

5+ years of experience in facility and/or equipment maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.

Experience working with CNC or machine tool systems preferred.

Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and interpret technical documentation.

Familiarity with OSHA standards and basic safety practices.

Supply Chain Specialist (Machine Shop Purchasing)
Position Overview
This position will assist in material quotes, work with engineering and customers for the best cost design for products, and coordinate procurement of all materials for jobs and facilities. He/she will also be expected to advise management on additional capabilities for improvement with the Supply Chain discipline. This position will support the implementation of purchasing standards and best practices.
To be successful in this position, you must have a high attention to detail, a sense of urgency to complete tasks and projects, be self-motivated, organized, and dependable. You must be a clear decision-maker with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You must also meet the following criteria;
Duties & Responsibilities

Manage the procurement process from sourcing to delivery, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of machine shop commodities.

Independently problem-solve and resolve procurement-related issues to minimize disruptions in production.

Demonstrate a hands-on approach by actively participating in tasks to support business growth.

Utilize advanced spreadsheet skills to analyze data, track inventory, and optimize procurement strategies.

Travel up to 10% as needed for supplier visits, and other business-related activities.
Requirements

- Associate's degree or higher or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years in supply chain or procurement roles, preferably within a machine shop or manufacturing environment.

Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to effectively procure materials and supplies for production.
