CNC Machinist
The successful candidate will be able to perform duties and responsibilities as listed below and
provide suggestions for efficiency improvements and assist machine operators.
What makes a successful NET & Die CNC Machinist?
A NET & Die CNC Machinist will efficiently and effectively program, set up and operate CNC vertical
or horizontal mills (3 & 4 axis) and/or lathes (single and dual spindle with live tooling)
independently. Assist in setup and programming for operators and run multiple machines
simultaneously. N.E.T. & Die is a low volume, custom machine shop offering a challenging
environment with new opportunities daily.
Required Skills & Abilities
● have 5+ years of experience with CNC machining; milling and or turning
● are able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
● can take a drawing and raw material and make a finished product independently
● possess a strong ability to work with tight tolerances
● can troubleshoot and determine corrective actions for problems
● have experience with a necessary measuring devices
● have experience with CAD/CAM (optional)
● possess excellent shop math skills
● can perform routine preventative maintenance duties
● are organized and dependable
● are able to work first shift
● are able to stand for long periods of time, and lift up to 30 pounds
Salary: $23.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week

● complete required classroom work per apprenticeship standards
● on the job training to includes hands on, mentored tasks including machine set ups, programming and
machining parameters
● training will also include blueprint reading, quality inspection standards, shop math
● perform routine preventative maintenance duties
● responsible for learning, implementing and maintaining lean initiatives
The following qualifications are necessary;
● high school diploma or equivalent
● problem solver, organized, detail oriented and dependable
● able to stand for long periods of time, and lift up to 30 pounds
● consider yourself to be hardworking, honest and loyal (NET & Die core attributes)
What Is An Apprenticeship?
An apprentice learns directly from his/her employer through on-the-job training while earning a salary. Hands-on training gives apprentices invaluable experience. Pair that with related technical instruction through our educational partners, including web based, community colleges and/or technical schools. All in class training is paid for by N.E.T. & Die. Total hours of training in the program is 8000 hours (approximately four years) of on the job and in class training.
This combination gives apprentices all the skills they need to succeed and progress in their professional careers in machining. Prior on the job and in class training may be applied towards required hours for apprenticeship. Our apprenticeship is a certified apprenticeship through the New York State Department of Labor.
As an apprentice you will learn:
● Principles of Manual Machining
● Principles of CNC Machining, Lathe & Mill
● Computer Operations
● Assisting Set-Up Person in Adjustments
● Utilize CAD/CAM software
● CNC Language for Tool Offset Procedures
● CNC Controls
● Performing CNC Machine Set-Up Procedures
● Writing CNC Programs
● Machine Repair and Maintenance
Starting salary for this position is between $17.00-22.00/hour depending on experience and education.

Manufacturing Engineering Internship
Position Overview
In this position, you will provide support to manufacturing operations. You will learn and gain
practical experience in a hands-on environment, and have a significant impact on the
organization. We value your creativity in helping us solve problems.
About the Role
The following are some of the projects you could be working on:

Maintain Process Sheets/Work Instructions for machining, welding and fabrication

Update Manufacturing Routers (sequence of operations) for better quality and on time

Assist with Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 5S projects

Update/upgrade tool crib

Create tool kit lists

Create/update process sheets

Assist in Lean Manufacturing Set up Reduction

Assist Manufacturing Engineer in design of fixtures

Assist in scoping for new equipment, tooling and vendor capabilities

Assist in CNC programming (CAD/CAM)

Other manufacturing projects as needed
